New member creates world class pottery
Tracie’s work is foundationally inspired by her time living in Arizona where she was introduced to Pueblo Pottery and particularly the work of Maria Martinez and alternative firing techniques.
Tracie mostly uses combustible materials from her environment (seaweed, pine, palm, animal droppings) to make colours and marks on her work. A lot of her work is burnished (polished with a stone).
Her current inspiration comes from a disastrous firing which positively has led her to fire metals (guitar strings, mechanical bits and pieces) into pieces as a form of permanent mark making.
